Snickerdoodles and Recipe

Whenever I don't have a recipe or don't have the time for any mess ups I always turn to Martha lol. For me Martha Stewart recipes are always great and fool proof. I have never made snickerdoodles before and after 3 years of me making all these detailed cookies for my boyfriend he tells me he loves snickerdoodles ahhh you mean i could have been making these instead lol

Here is the recipe from Martha here , I Adjusted it a little my version is as follows

3 cups of flour

2 tsp cream of tarter

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 stick of butter(unsalted)

1/2 cup of shortening

1 3/4 cup of sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon

2 eggs

Preheat your over to 400 degrees Move the rack to the middle

Line your baking sheets for parchment paper or silpat

Sift flour ,baking soda,salt,and cream of tarter in a separate bowl

Cream butter shortening and 1 1/2 cup of sugar together ,add eggs one at a time

Add dry ingredients in 2 parts mix well.

In another bow mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon with a spoon mix well

Take your dough and roll into balls about 1 1/2 inches i used my cookie scooper i use the one found here its great its great for chocolate chip cookies to.

Place onto your parchment sheets and bake for 10 min or until they start to crack. Martha says to rotate them half way through but i didn't have the time to and they still came out great so i would just say it depends on how your oven cooks.

Happy Fathers Day

First off I'm just warning you this post is a little personal so if you don't care leave now lol. I want to wish a Happy Fathers Day to all the good dads out there the ones that sometimes may not get appreciated . If you have a good father or grandfather or husband make sure you let them know how great they are every now and then. I am saying this because i do not have one of those dads and sometimes we take for granted things because we don't know it any other way. Although technically my dad never ran out on us and i still talk to him sometimes he found out a few years when i was about 7 or so that it would be more fun to run around with women and hang out with his friends then it is to be a dad and be around. He is a pathological liar who only wants to be a dad when its convient . My mother however did a great job so i had at least one good parent , it broke her heart that i ended up with a crappy dad because she was one of the lucky ones who had an amazing father I'm just sad i didn't get to spend more time with him before he passed away. For years it would break my heart to see little girls and their fathers in movies and in real life always wishing i had that. I learned to try and just let it go and realize that will never happen for me but i have to admit it still hurts a little .

So I wanna say Happy Fathers Day to my mom lol and remind you if you have a good Dad go hug him and be thankful for him .

P.s I'm not writing this to make anyone feel bad for me I know there are worse fathers out there I just want you to appreciate the good one you may have .

When i saw this today on pinterest i immediately thought how perfect and something my boyfriend said to me tonight linked up with this. When we first met him i was skeptical of him really close minded since he was not my normal type as he says i didn't like him but i had a feeling a gut feeling there was something more . 3 years later hes my best friend and i couldn't be more in love with him , having him in my life makes those days when everything seems to suck be alot better . The Little Zoo

Anyone that knows me knows i love the zoo , I'm like a little kid i get all excited when i see my favorite animals . Yesterday i went to the Vansaun park zoo 10 min from my house. Its really small but it was a nice day out so why not do something different other then running errands. I used to go there every sunday when i was little and go on the pony rides lol.
